WIRC's Care Market provides hygiene items to people in need.
Feeling clean at the end of the day is a wonderful feeling, but for some people it is a luxury or a rare occasion. Imagine needing to make the decision between purchasing medicine or toilet paper? That is a reality for some western Illinois families.
Care Market is a social service program offered by Western Illinois Regional Council (WIRC) that offers hygiene items (soap, toothbrushes, and so on) to people in need who cannot afford to buy these items on their own. The program helps eligible residents of Hancock, Henderson, Knox, McDonough, and Warren counties in Illinois.
There are no cookie-cutter solutions here at WIRC. Eligible people are able to pick and choose the items they need from what WIRC has in stock, rather than getting a box of already prepared items they may never use.
WIRC needs and appreciates monetary donations given to us to purchase these items.
Thank you for sharing our mission of helping people and communities in western Illinois!
